Frisco Hacks 2026 starting soon!

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to check in because we are officially 3 days away! We kick off this Monday, February 9th at 11:00 AM CST.

Since this is a beginner-focused hackathon, don't overthink the "rules." We aren't looking for the most complex code in the world. We’re looking for creative ideas. If you can build a game with a unique or weird mechanic that makes people go "oh, that’s cool," you’ve got a massive shot at winning.

Why bother? Placement here looks great on college apps or a resume. You’re competing in a multi-sponsored event, and everyone gets a certificate of participation/achievement to prove they actually shipped a project.

The Submission Rules (Keep it simple):

  1. Video is a must: Record a short clip showing us how the game works.

  2. Links: You can drop your GitHub or Itch.io links, but nothing else. If you send random external links, we won't be able to open them for security/judging reasons.

  3. Originality: Make sure the game is yours!

A heads-up on prizes: Once the winners are announced, give us about 1–2 weeks to get everything sent out. We’ll be sending everything manually to your personal emails, so please check your spam folder around that time.

Can't wait to see what you guys come up with.

Questions?

If you have any questions about the hackathon, please post on the discussion forum.
